I appreciated the comments through which I was browsing from this article. It seems like there are some people out there who actually understand what we are going through. I read the same story on Yahoo and there was so much hate and victim blaming... I really needed to see this article, so thanks for posting it.
Sadly, one didn't have to attend a for-profit school to get scammed. My story still makes me sick when I think about it. I am glad to see a movement happening and I hope it will continue to reach all of us who are indentured slaves.
@Anonymous - I have been working on behalf of student debtors for close to 6 years now, and this is a place for your voice. I know that the stories are not written in a balanced way, and the comments are hateful. Don't forget that the industry pays shills to fill up comments to make it sound like people hate you, and there are also a lot of misguided folks out there. But you have a fan here - what you are doing is courageous, and I applaud you.
