The Loop 21: GOP Candidates Unpopular Among Young Voters

Super Tuesday couldn't be ignored, especially after watching these GOP debates. Regardless of how you feel about the electoral system or the Republicans, it has - in the very least - been quite entertaining. At one point, it seemed Romney and Gingrich were going to challenge one another to a duel.

I reached out to several experts about the youth vote recently, and wrote an articled entitled, "GOP Candidates Unpopular Among Youth Voters."

Here's a snippet:
GOP fails to capture the youth like Democrats have in the past

When it comes to the youth vote, Ron Paul, Rick Santorum, and Mitt Romney are tied at a dismal figure.

According to a report by The Center for Information & Research on Civic Learning & Engagement (CIRCLE), only 5% of youth voters participated in the Super Tuesday contests. The findings do not suggest, however, that youth voters are always absent at the polls during the primary season. CIRCLE notes, “By this time in the 2008 primary campaign, Barack Obama had drawn more than six times as many youth votes as any of the Republican 2012 candidates, with about 1,365,000 youth votes.”

They all seem so anachronistic in many ways.

It is not their fault. It is just that they don't seem to know any better.

My bet is that President Obama is re-elected and the house and senate will change a few seats, but will remain split and nothing will get done about student loan debt, and it will hit 1.5 trillion.

In the meantime think up an election slogan for 2016.

Rick Santorum is a Bible-thumping ass-clown.
