It would be great if we could coordinate a protest in So. Cali on the same date. If you can make it to D.C., I urge you to attend.

What are going to protest about specifically?

The organizers for this protest in D.C. are focusing on broad issues that are interconnected: the continued wars we're waging in 3 countries (perhaps 4), high unemployment, environmental devastation, etc.. The situation with student debtors is related to these larger socio-economic problems. Many credible thinkers believe we no longer have a democracy in the U.S. It has become an oligarchy, and most politicians have been bought and sold by corporate interests. That's why we need to stand up and let them know that we refuse to accept what's happening to our communities, to our environment, and to our political culture. They did it in Egypt and Tunisia, why can't we do it here?
